About the site...
Something About Animals is a site for you to learn about animals, the environment, and how people affect it. So there may be a lot of variety in content. I hope you can learn a thing or two. My goal: to help inspire people and to provide a place for someone to find some quick facts as well as a place for someone to gain a greater understanding along the way. But I am no animal expert, and so I plan to learn along the way as I research.
And now for some background. I created this site after watching Planet Earth, which my older brother got me for Christmas two years ago. After quickly creating this site, I realized that I did not have a clear idea of what I wanted the site to be about. And so, if you have seen this site before, it has been stagnant, because I let it go for several months. However, I got the motivation to redesign and refocus the site, which I did, so that (1) I would be able to write about things I was interested in and knew at least something about and (2) there would be some things I could update periodically without feeling overwhelmed. And so I did.
About me...
Since 2nd grade, after seeing a movie in school about the destruction of the environment, I have been reading about animals and the environment. In 3rd grade, I wrote a letter to President George Bush asking him push for an end to the destruction of the rainforest, and I got it signed by my class as well as well as some of the teachers (yes, I am very proud of it). Unfortunately, I didn't get a response (although when I wrote again in 6th grade, I did). So I am not animal expert but an animal enthusiast. And since I am no expert, I will include sources for all the information I provide, so you can both verfiy what I say as well as learn more yourself.
Other than animals, my other interests include reading, writing, computer programming, 3D animation, and website design and development. At all these things, I am but an amateur, and I am learning everyday (with still much more learning ahead). I suppose that is enough about me. I will spare you my life story.
